GIBSONVILLE – A short section of N.C. 61 will close on Monday allowing N.C. Department of Transportation crews to improve drainage in the area.
N.C. 61 near Suits Road will close Monday, with a 1.8-mile marked detour directing traffic until June 3. The closure will allow crews to dig, remove and replace an old drainage pipe under the road.
Drivers heading south on N.C. 61 will be directed to turn left on Suits Road, right onto County Farm Road, then back to N.C. 61. The reverse order applies for northbound traffic.
