RALEIGH – Work can begin soon on a project to replace a prominent bridge in Eden.
The N.C. Department of Transportation recently awarded a $4.3 million contract to Smith-Rowe LLC to replace the bridge that carries N.C. 700 over U.S. 311/N.C. 14/N.C. 87/N.C. 770.
The work can begin working as early as June 1 and is scheduled to be substantially complete by fall of 2023.
A signed detour will be in place once the demolition and construction begin.
Drivers should prepare for a new traffic pattern during the project and be mindful of the crews entering and exiting the work zone.
