WASHINGTON – Two roads in Beaufort County will temporarily close next week, so their railroad crossings can be improved.
In a joint project between the N.C. Department of Transportation's maintenance crews and a regional railroad, the department plans to close these two locations during the following times to conduct railroad maintenance and repave the road around the crossings.
- Brick Klin Road near Whootentown Road from 7 a.m. June 8 until 5 p.m. June 9

Inclement weather could delay the completion of the projects. Drivers who use these routes should plan ahead when using the detours and be alert near the closures.
