COROLLA – Crews from the N.C. Department of Transportation will be performing resurfacing work Monday and Tuesday on two sections of N.C. 12 between Corolla and Duck.
The two sections of roadway are deteriorating rapidly and need urgent repair.
On Monday, crews will resurface an 800-foot section of N.C. 12 just south of the Hampton Inn between Corolla and Duck in Currituck County.
On Tuesday, those same crews will resurface a 250-foot section of the highway near Acorn Oak Avenue in Duck.
The work will mean temporary lane closures on N.C. 12 both days. A message board alerting motorists to the work and warning of potential delays will be placed on both sides of the projects.
Residents and visitors should factor the roadwork into their travel plans Monday and Tuesday, as there is no detour around either project. The resurfacing work is expected to be finished by the end of the day Tuesday, weather permitting.
