Closures Starting This Weekend on I-40 in Forsyth County

WINSTON-SALEM – An N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will close lanes on Interstate 40 in Forsyth County starting this weekend for an ongoing rehabilitation and bridge preservation project, weather permitting.

The following nightly closures are scheduled to take place from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning:

  • On June 12, two of three lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 West from west of U.S. 52 to the U.S. 421/I-40 interchange.
  • On June 12-13, two of three lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 East from Hanes Mall Boulevard to west of U.S. 52.
  • On June 13, two of three lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 West from west of U.S. 52 to west of Peters Creek Parkway.
  • On June 13, one of two lanes are scheduled to be closed on the exit ramp (Exit 188) from I-40 West to U.S. 421 North.

Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zone and plan accordingly for delays.
