NCDOT Holds Information Session for Contracting Opportunities

RALEIGH - The N.C. Department of Transportation Office of Civil Rights will be hosting an information session for women- and minority-owned businesses interested in Asheville I-26 Connector contractor opportunities and how to work with NCDOT.

The Office of Civil Rights representatives will discuss contracting opportunities available for this project.

The event will be held 8:30 a.m. -1 p.m. June 15 at the Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, 340 Victoria Road in Asheville.  To register for this event, click here. The event is free and open to the public.

Contracting opportunities for this project include:

  • Incidental concrete construction, brick masonry, minor drainage structures (drop inlets, catch basins, etc.), curb and gutter/shoulder berm gutter
  • Guardrail installation
  • Work zone traffic control devices
  • Pavement markings
  • Water/sewer line installation
  • Temporary silt fence, silt detention devices, selective tree removal/trimming, seeding and mulching, and landscape planting

The proposed I-26 Connector would be a median-divided freeway, accessible only by interchanges, that would connect I-26 in southwest Asheville to U.S. 19/23/70 in northwest Asheville.
