CHARLOTTE – N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will resume tonight a bridge rehabilitation project on the Brookshire Freeway end of Interstate 277, requiring overnight ramp closures.
Crews will close the following ramps each night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., continuing through Sunday morning:
- From the outer loop to North Church Street
- U.S. 74 and North Caldwell Street to the outer loop
Another contractor will also work on the John Belk Freeway section of I-277, requiring intermittent nighttime ramp closures each night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., continuing through Monday morning.
All closures are weather dependent and subject to change.
Drivers need to slow down and use extra caution while going through the work zones. They also need to pay extra attention to the road for their own safety, as well as any occupants of other vehicles and the construction crews in the area.
