Lane, Ramp Closures Upcoming for I-40 Project in Forsyth County

​​WINSTON-SALEM – Several lane and ramp closures are scheduled for this weekend and early next week as part of the ongoing project to improve the pavement and bridges along Interstate 40 in Forsyth County.

The times and locations of the closures are as follows, weather permitting:

From 8 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday: Two of three lanes of I-40 West will be closed from U.S. 52 to west of Peters Creek Parkway; one of two lanes of I-40 West will be closed from High Point Road to I-74; and two of three lanes of I-40 East will be closed from west of Stratford Road to east of Peters Creek Parkway.

From 9 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday: The exit ramp from I-40 East to Stratford Road and the ramp from Stratford Road to I-40 East will be closed with signed detours utilizing I-40 East and Hanes Mall Boulevard.

From 8 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday: Two of three lanes of I-40 West will be closed from U.S. 52 to west of Peters Creek Parkway; and two of three lanes of I-40 East will be closed from west of Stratford Road to east of Peters Creek Parkway.

From 9 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday: The exit ramp from I-40 East to Stratford Road and the ramp from Stratford Road to I-40 East will be closed with signed detours utilizing I-40 East and Hanes Mall Boulevard.

Drivers should be mindful of the crews working in these areas and factor the detours into their trips.
