WINSTON-SALEM – Starting this weekend, N.C. Department of Transportation contractors will be implementing nightly ramp and lane closures on Interstate 40 for ongoing construction and maintenance projects, weather permitting.
From Aug. 21-22, two of three lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 East from west of Stratford Road to Peters Creek Parkway from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
The following closures are scheduled to take place from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning:
- From Aug. 21-22, one of two northbound lanes are scheduled to be closed on the N.C. 66 bridge over I-40.
- On Aug. 22, the exit ramp from I-40 East to Stratford Road is scheduled to be closed with a signed detour.
Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zone and plan accordingly for delays.
