MONROE – The N.C. Department of Transportation has awarded a $691,456 contract to replace the bridge on Prospect Road over Polecat Creek, south of Monroe.
Contractor Dellinger Inc. can begin work as early as Sept. 19 and must have the bridge open to drivers by the end of April 2023. Vegetation establishment can continue into October 2023.
While the bridge is closed, drivers can follow a signed detour from Prospect Road to Carl Belk Road, Trinity Church Road and Plyler Mill Road, returning to Prospect Road.
