STATESVILLE – The N.C. Department of Transportation plans to close a section of road in Iredell County to install a new storm drainage and repairing a sinkhole starting next week.
Beginning Sept. 20, U.S. 21 (South Center Street) in Statesville will be closed from East Bell Street to Garfield Street to replace a section of storm drainage. This project is anticipated to be complete by Oct. 25.
Motorists will utilize the following detour: U.S. 64 (West Front Street) to U.S. 70 (Garner Bagnal Boulevard) to U.S. 21 (South Center Street) during the closure.
Drivers should slow down and remain alert while using the detour route.
