This Week at NCDOT: "Operation Clear Track" and Charlotte Transportation Summit

RALEIGH – The following are highlights from this week at the N.C. Department of Transportation. The stories below are also featured in NCDOT Now, the department's weekly newscast.

"Operation Clear Track"

“Operation Clear Track” is a campaign to raise awareness and enforce railroad crossing and trespassing laws.

As part of this campaign, law enforcement personnel from Apex and Greensboro teamed up with the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s staff to hand out railroad safety cards to motorists and pedestrians and issue warnings and citations to violators.

This campaign is a part of the nationwide Rail Safety Week, which aims to reduce pedestrian and driver injuries and deaths around railroad tracks.
