WINSTON-SALEM – The N.C. Department of Transportation closed a ramp near Salem Parkway this morning for emergency road work.
At 11 a.m., the ramp from Cloverdale Avenue to U.S. 421 West was closed to allow crews to perform repairs upon discovering a large portion of the shoulder of the ramp was washed out due to Hurricane Ian.
A signed detour will be in place using Cloverdale Avenue, Oakwood Drive and Stratford Road.
Work is expected to be complete by Oct. 7.
Motorists are reminded to remain alert when approaching the work zone and use extra caution while adjusting to the detour.
