WINSTON-SALEM – N.C. Department of Transportation contractors will continue maintenance and construction along Interstate 40 in Forsyth County over the next few nights with closures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, weather permitting.
The following closures are scheduled to take place tonight:
- Two of three lanes will be closed on I-40 East from the U.S.421/I-40 interchange to Peters Creek Parkway.
- One of two lanes will be closed on I-40 East from west of Union Cross Road to Union Cross Road.
- Two of three lanes will be closed on I-40 West from east of Peters Creek Parkway to west of Stratford Road.
- One of two lanes will be closed on I-40 West from east of High Point Road to west of I-74.
On Wednesday:
- Two of three lanes will be closed on I-40 East from west of Peters Creek Parkway to west of U.S. 52.
- One of two lanes will be closed on I-40 West from west of Stratford Road to the U.S. 421 interchange.
- One of two lanes will be closed on the Exit 238 ramp from U.S. 421 South to I-40 East.
- The exit loop onto I-40 East from the connector ramp between U.S. 421 North and I-40 West will be closed with a detour.
On Thursday:
- One of two lanes will be closed on I-40 East from I-74 to High Point Road.
- One of two lanes will be closed on I-40 East from Union Cross Road to the Guilford County Line.
- One of two lanes will be closed on I-40 West from east of I-74 to west of I-74.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and use extra caution while driving through the work zones.
