WINSTON SALEM – An N.C. Department of Transportation contractor plans to reduce lanes of U.S. 421 (Salem Parkway) this weekend for paving operations as part of the Future I-74 Winston-Salem Northern Beltway project.
Beginning Friday at 8 p.m., the contractor plans to reduce U.S. 421 North to a single lane between exits 224 and 227. Lane closures will alternate throughout the weekend. Work is expected to be complete by Oct. 24, pending favorable weather.
These lane closures are necessary to allow the contractor to pave and prepare the final riding surface for all travel lanes and shoulders of the Future I-74.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and remain alert for road crews in the work zone.
