RALEIGH – Lane closures are planned for maintenance work along a stretch of Interstate 540 over the weekend and into next week.
Crews plan to close two of three lanes of I-540 West just past the Buffaloe Road exit from 9 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday. The same closures are scheduled from 9 p.m.-6 a.m. on both Monday and Tuesday nights, with the final closure expected to be lifted early Wednesday morning.
The closures will enable crews to safely conduct maintenance on the joints of the westbound I-540 bridge over the Neuse River.
Drivers should slow down and anticipate reduced lanes when approaching this section of I-540, and be mindful of the crews that will be working close to the travel lanes.
