WILSON – A section of U.S. 301 in southwestern Wilson County is scheduled to close for drainage improvements on Friday night.
A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation will install new drainage pipes under U.S. 301 near N.C. 581 as part of a project to improve that intersection.
The work will require U.S. 301 to be closed in both directions at this intersection when the work is scheduled from 7 p.m. Dec. 2 until 6 a.m. Dec. 5.
Drivers should will follow a detour onto Saint Mary's Church Road, Black Walnut Road and N.C. 581.
