SALISBURY – A segment of Interstate 85 in Rowan County will be closed for several nights this week from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. to allow an N.C. Department of Transportation contractor to perform a bridge maintenance project.
From tonight to Nov. 16, the two right lanes on I-85 South will be closed between mile markers 78 and 76. The closure will shift to the left lanes once repairs to the bridge expansion joint are complete on the right side.
From Nov. 16-18, the two right lanes of I-85 North will be closed between mile markers 74 and 76. The northbound left lanes will also be closed once work is completed on the right side.
Exit 76 will remain open while work is ongoing.
All work is dependent on weather conditions.
Drivers are reminded to slow down and remain alert for crewmen while driving through the work zone.
