RALEIGH – A public meeting is scheduled for this week, followed by a month-long public comment period for proposed improvements to Old Stage Road near Garner.
The project proposes to widen Old Stage Road from two to four lanes between Rock Service Station Road and Rolling Meadows Drive, and improve the intersection of Old Stage and Rock Service Station roads.
The purpose of the project is to relieve congestion to improve mobility along this stretch of road. Once complete, it also would better accommodate bicyclists and pedestrians and enhance safety for all roadway users. Project details, including a map of the proposed improvements, can be found on the NCDOT project webpage at https://publicinput.com/OldStage-RockServiceSta.
The meeting is set for 5-7 p.m. on Nov. 17 at Holland's United Methodist Church, 9433 Ten Ten Road in Raleigh. People can drop in at any time during those hours to ask the project team questions and submit comments on the proposed design. They can also provide input by Dec. 16 by phone (984-205-6615, project code 2141), email (OldStage-RockServiceSta@PublicInput.com), or on the project webpage.
NCDOT will provide auxiliary aids and services under the Americans with Disabilities Act for disabled people who wish to participate in this workshop. Anyone requiring such services should contact Diane Wilson at 919-707-6073 or pdwilson1@ncdot.gov as early as possible so arrangements can be made.
Those who do not speak English, or have a limited availability to read, speak or understand English, may receive interpretive services upon request prior to the meeting by calling 1-800-481-6494.
