Weekend Lane Closures Set for I-40 Project

WINSTON-SALEM – N.C. Department of Transportation contractors will close several lanes along Interstate 40 for the pavement rehabilitation and bridge preservation project in Forsyth County.

These closures will take place from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, weather permitting:

  • Dec. 11, two of three lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 West from east of Peters Creek Parkway to west of Stratford Road.
  • Dec. 11, one of two lanes are scheduled to be closed on the Exit 238 offramp that carries traffic from U.S. 421 South to I-40 East. The exit loop onto I-40 East from the connector ramp between U.S. 421 North and I-40 West will be closed with a detour in conjunction with the lane closure.
  • Dec. 12, one of two lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 West from High Point Road to west of I-74.
  • Dec. 12, the left lane is scheduled to be closed on the ramp from I-74 West to I-40 West.
  • Dec. 12, two of three lanes are scheduled to be closed on I-40 West from east of Peters Creek Parkway to west of Stratford Road.

Motorists should remain alert and use caution while traveling through the work zones.
