WINSTON-SALEM – N.C. Department of Transportation maintenance forces will temporarily close a lane and exit on U.S. 52 tomorrow for an ongoing slab repair project.
Beginning at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, one lane of U.S. 52 North will close near Exit 115B and the loop from U.S. 52 North to access the southbound direction of University Parkway (Exit 115B) will be closed.
All work will be performed on U.S. 52, but the ramp closure is necessary for the safety of the maintenance crews. During the ramp closure, U.S. 52 traffic will follow a signed detour to Hanes Mill Road (Exit 116) to access University Parkway.
The ramp is expected to reopen by 5 p.m. The lane closure will remain in effect until the following morning to allow the new concrete to settle.
Motorists are reminded to use extra caution and slow down when approaching the work zone.
