GARNER – Crews will try again this week to conduct work for the Complete 540 project that was not possible last week due to rain.
If weather cooperates, the following closures will be installed through early next week to conduct bridge demolition and ramp realignment work:
- Interstate 40 West at N.C. 42 (Exit 312) from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday nights. I-40 West traffic will be detoured along N.C. 42 East and U.S. 70 West to return to I-40 West.
- I-40 East at U.S. 70 East (Exit 309) from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday and Sunday nights. I-40 East traffic will be detoured along U.S. 70 East and N.C. 42 West to return to I-40 East.
- U.S. 70 West at N.C. 42 (Exit 320) from 10 p.m. Friday through noon Sunday. U.S. 70 West traffic will be detoured down N.C. 42 West to access I-40 West.
Drivers should factor these detours into their trips and be mindful of the crews they encounter throughout the work zones.
