SPRING HOPE – Traffic will be temporarily stopped for one day on N.C. 581 in Nash County where a new bridge over the Tar River is under construction.
A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation needs to close the road several times for up to 30 minutes each between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Wednesday to deliver and set into place the bridge girders.
Construction started last fall on a new bridge that is going up alongside the existing one. Once the new bridge is built, the existing one will be demolished.
Drivers should expect delays using this road on Wednesday, if they aren't able to alter their route.
