New Tarboro Driver License Office Ready to Serve Citizens

ROCKY MOUNT – The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles’ new Tarboro Driver License Office officially opened for business following a ribbon-cutting ceremony today.  The new location at 100 East Hope Lodge St., in Tarboro, replaces the previous office in Tarboro that closed in November 2022.

“DMV is back in business in Tarboro,” said NCDMV Commissioner Wayne Goodwin.  “This is a special day for the citizens of Tarboro and Edgecombe County. Thanks to County Manager Eric Evans, his staff, and the County Commissioners of Edgecombe County for their determination to make this new office a reality.”

Commissioner Goodwin was joined at the ribbon cutting ceremony by Evans, Deputy County Manager Natalie Bess, Assistant County Manager Mike Matthews, other county dignitaries, and by DMV directors and managers.

The Tarboro Driver License Office hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for state holidays, and will offer full services to walk-in customers only, including initial driver licenses, state-issued IDs, REAL IDs, renewals, and duplicates.

DMV offers driver license renewals and many other services online. Customers are encouraged to check the official DMV website at MyNCDMV.gov to see if their driver license needs can be met online.
