LELAND – Dozens of miles of roadway in Brunswick and Sampson counties will be upgraded thanks to two recently awarded contracts.
The N.C. Department of Transportation awarded a $4 million contract to mill, resurface and reconstruct shoulders of 14.5 miles of roads across Brunswick County. The roads include sections of N.C. 87, and eight sections of secondary roads.
Another $4.1 million contract was awarded to do the same work on portions of N.C. 50, N.C. 55 and ten other sections of secondary roads in Sampson County.
Both contracts were awarded to ST Wooten Corp. of Wilson. The contractor may begin work as early as this summer and is scheduled to be completed in spring 2026 for all the work.
NCDOT will provide traffic information on DriveNC.gov.
