MORRISVILLE- Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation will close some access at the Interstate 40 interchange at Airport Boulevard for three days, weather permitting.
Construction begins tonight at 10 p.m., reopening Monday morning at 5 a.m. All right turn movements on the ramps of the interchange will remain open to traffic.
Traffic on northbound Airport Boulevard will take Interstate 40 East to Aviation Parkway, I-40 West back to Airport Boulevard.
Southbound traffic will take I-40 West, I-540 then loop around to I-40 East and exit at Airport Boulevard.
RDU Traffic should use Aviation Parkway as an alternate route.
Drivers should use caution if traveling near the work zone and plan their commute accordingly, as it may take longer than normal.
