RALEIGH- A section of Falls of Neuse Road will be closed to traffic this weekend for paving by contractors with the N.C. Department of Transportation. The road will have one lane in each direction open to traffic the entire time.
The closures will affect Falls of Neuse Road between Interstate 540 and Litchford Road, with alternating closures beginning Sunday, Dec. 8, at 7 a.m. and continuing through Monday, Dec. 9, at 6 a.m.
On Sunday morning, northbound lanes will close and traffic will be shifted to the southbound side, where one lane will remain open in each direction. Later in the day, traffic will move to the newly paved northbound lanes with one lane in each direction open while crews pave the southbound lanes.
Drivers are urged to avoid this section of roadway during the above times and use alternate routes if possible.
