RALEIGH – Construction crews are set to close Western Boulevard nightly over the next few weeks as part of ongoing construction for the Interstate 440 improvements project.
Weather permitting, Western Boulevard will close at the I-440 interchange late each night Sunday through Friday and reopen at 5 the following mornings. This work is expected to last into mid-March.
Eastbound Western Boulevard traffic will be detoured to take I-440 West to the Melbourne Road exit and return on the Beltline to return to Western Boulevard. Westbound Western Boulevard traffic will take I-440 East to Hillsborough Street to turn around and return to Western Boulevard.
Drivers are encouraged to slow down and pay attention to our crews in all work zones.
