WINSTON-SALEM - A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation will implement slow-rolling traffic closures on Interstate 40 East in Forsyth County on Friday.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on January 3, crews from Webber LLC will slow traffic on I-40 East between High Point Road and Union Cross Road (Exit 201), weather permitting.
The slow rolling impacts are necessary for crews to safely re-install pavement markings that have diminished over the last several weeks.
The painting operation will proceed slowly through the work zone, then allow the traffic congestion to release prior to making another slow rolling pass through the project.
This ongoing work is part of the Winston-Salem Northern Beltway Project.
Drivers are encouraged to utilize U.S. 421 South (Salem Parkway) as a detour route around the project.
Drivers should use caution while traveling through the work zones and plan accordingly for delays associated with the slow-moving traffic.
