The N.C. Department of Transportation is holding the following meeting to answer questions and receive comments from the public on the proposed project: 

April 26, 2018
4-7 p.m.

Interested citizens may attend at any time and NCDOT representatives will be available to engage citizens in providing input on desired features and answer questions regarding the proposed project. Attendees will also have the opportunity to submit written comments and questions until May 26, 2018. No formal presentation will be made.

The project is anticipated to include widening of N.C. 62 to multiple lanes, relocating N.C. 62 to intersect U.S. 70 across from East Lake Drive, and widening a small section of U.S. 70. The purpose of the project is to improve traffic flow, relieve congestion, support regional mobility and accessibility, accommodate bicyclists and pedestrians and enhance safety for all roadway users. These goals reflect the community vision for the roadway reflected in regional transportation plans.

NCDOT will provide auxiliary aids and services under the Americans with Disabilities Act for disabled persons who wish to participate in this meeting. Anyone requiring special services should contact Diane Wilson at (919) 707-6073 as early as possible so that arrangements can be made.

Persons who speak Spanish and do not speak English, or have a limited ability to read, speak or understand English, may receive interpretive services upon request prior to the meeting by calling 1-800-481-6494.
