Pamela Gibson Senegal is CEO of the YWCA Central Carolinas, a position she has held since March 2025.
Previously, she was president at Piedmont Community College from 2017 to 2025.
Senegal is a lifelong learner who recently completed an honors seminar program in economic development at East Carolina University. She has also completed programs at the North Carolina Leadership Forum at Duke University and the Aspen Institute's prestigious New President's Leadership Fellowship program.
She was also recently selected as one of 25 leaders nationwide to participate in the second part of the Aspen Institute's President Fellowship program.
With more than 25 years of experience working in education and industry, Senegal is committed to ensuring that equitable opportunities are accessible to all communities. Her expertise in economic development and partnership creation has made a lasting impact throughout her career.
Beyond her leadership in education, she is a dedicated public servant, serving on numerous boards, including EdNC and the NC Leadership Forum. She is also an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Senegal earned bachelor's degrees in political science and Spanish, a master's degree in public administration and a doctorate in adult and community college education from N.C. State University.
She has three sons and lives in the Raleigh area.
