Fourth of July 'Booze It & Lose It' Campaign Kick-Off

​​​​Every year the N.C. Governor's Highway Safety Program​ kicks-off a week-long Fourth of July ‘Booze It & Lose it’ Campaign with increased saturation patrols across all 100 counties.

This year, GHSP is partnering with Marine Corps Air Station New River and Marine Corp  Base Air Station Camp Lejeune to host the Fourth of July ‘Booze It & Lose it’ Campaign dubbed "Operation Firecracker." 

The event is scheduled for:

Monday July 1, 2019
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Marine Corps Air Station New River
Rally Point: Building AS187, Curtis Road
Jacksonville

There will be community involvement focused activities on the base, including:

  • Blood Alcohol Testing Mobile Unit (BAT Mobile) to be used for touring as well as an overnight check point in Onslow County.
  • Seatbelt Convincer - An educational tool that allows riders to experience force, up to five times their body weight, similar to that of a 5-10 mph crash.
  • Golf Carts & Goggles - drunk driving simulators
  • Hot Car demonstrator
