The
N.C. Department of Transportation Office of Civil Rights will host three outreach workshops to assist minority-owned businesses with bidding and construction cost estimate contracts.
Workshop attendees will learn about:
- General risks in construction and importance to set up accounting practices
- Understanding the structure of an estimate for bidding purposes
- How to incorporate business costs into an estimate for profitable bidding
- Determining the cost of a crew (truck and driver)
- Determining hauling costs (per hour, per ton, per cubic yards)
- Putting the estimate and bid together
