LOCUST – The N.C. Department of Transportation will close one lane on N.C. 24/27 West over Rocky River near Locust, starting Monday, June 4, weather permitting.
Bridge maintenance crews will close the left westbound lane to set up a crane that will remove debris in the river that has accumulated against the structure. The lane closure will be in place today, June 8, through 7 p.m. Work will resume Monday, June 11 and could continue through Wednesday, June 13, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
If bad weather interrupts the work schedule, the lane closure may be extended.
Transportation officials remind motorists to drive safely, obey all posted speed limits and work-zone postings.
