GIBSONVILLE – Department of
Transportation contractors will begin work next week to install a new culvert
that runs underneath Bethel Church Road between Painter Lakes Drive and Peeden Drive,
closing a portion of the roadway west of Gibsonville in Guilford County.
The road will close at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19, and
will reopen by 5 p.m. Saturday, July 28, weather permitting.
Drivers can detour around the closure using Knox Road, Burlington Road
and Sedalia Road in both directions.
The department
encourages motorists to pay attention when approaching the work zone, obey the
posted speed limit and allow extra time to reach their destinations safely.
