Sewer Work Requires Weekend Lane Closures on Market Street and Kerr Avenue
WILMINGTON—Drivers traveling on Kerr Avenue and Market Street between Cinema Drive and Wilmington Avenue will encounter lane closures beginning this Friday.
The closures are needed so N.C. Department of Transportation crews can replace a degraded sewer pipe that runs under the intersection of Kerr Avenue and Market Street.
The lane closures will start at 7 p.m. Friday and continue until 6 a.m. Monday. One travel lane in each direction on Market Street will be open at all times; however, Kerr Avenue will be closed to traffic at Market Street for the pipe work.
Traffic will be detoured to the Wilmington Avenue Extension and Cinema Drive to access Market Street. No detours are planned on Market Street. Drivers are urged to seek alternate routes wherever possible.
