One-Night Closure Planned for Peters Creek Parkway Bridge Pouring

WINSTON-SALEM – N.C. Department of Transportation contractors will close a portion of the eastbound lanes of Business 40 between Cloverdale Avenue and Peters Creek Parkway one night next week while crews prepare to pour concrete on the bridge deck for the first phase of the new bridge in Winston-Salem.

Starting at 9 p.m., on Tuesday, July 10, eastbound traffic will be reduced to one lane; with a complete closure starting at 10 p.m. The roadway will reopen to traffic by 5 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11; weather permitting.

“The closure, part of the Business 40 Improvement Project, is needed for the placement of construction equipment, additional closures will be needed as the project progresses,” said NCDOT Division Engineer Pat Ivey.

Drivers will be able to detour using Cloverdale Avenue and West 1st Street.

NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert, slow down in the work zone and obey the posted speed limit.
