Media Advisory: Forsyth County's Commissioner, District Attorney and Clerk of Courts to get REAL ID

REAL ID is a single form of identification that meets tougher security standards for travel by air and to enter federal buildings, military installations and nuclear facilities.

More than 19,600 REAL IDs have been issued in Forsyth County since they debuted in North Carolina last year. Statewide, the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles has issued more than 558,000 REAL IDs.

Frye will share the importance of the new card and how residents can obtain theirs to make air travel easier. Plyler and O’Neill will also apply for their N.C. REAL IDs.

Photo opportunities will be provided from 10 -10:15 a.m. Comments will be made from 10:15-10:30 a.m.
