Pipe to relieve drainage issue
YADKINVILLE – A new pipe should help water flow under a road instead of over it.
N.C. Department of Transportation crews will be closing a section of Old U.S. 421 at the intersection with U.S. 21 in Yadkin County in order to install a drainage pipe that should alleviate flooding issues in the area.
Crews will close this intersection in Brooks Crossroads at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 16, and keep it closed through the completion of work by Friday, July 21.
A marked detour will direct eastbound drivers to Asbury Church Road, then U.S. 421 South then to U.S. 21 back to Old U.S. 421. Westbound drivers will take U.S. 21 South to U.S. 421 North and then the Asbury Church Road exit to Old U.S. 421.
