CONCORD – A section of Zion Church Road East is closed at Zion Church Road in Concord due to a failed pipe under the roadway.
Department of Transportation maintenance crews have closed the road and are setting up a detour for traffic. The road will remain closed through Tuesday afternoon, July 17, so repairs can safely be completed.
Motorists can get around the closure by taking Zion Church Road to N.C. 49 North, then exiting to U.S. 601. Drivers will cross over U.S. 601 to return to Zion Church Road East on the other side of the closure. Motorists traveling on Zion Church Road East can follow the detour in reverse.
