PROSPECT – N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will close
a section of N.C. 119 near Prospect just south of Huffines Road in Caswell County while they replace an aging pipe.
The closure will take place starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 23, until work is complete by 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31.
Local traffic will be able to access homes from either end of the closure, but will not be able to pass beyond the closure points of the work area.
Northbound and
southbound motorists will detour using Corbett Road, Byrd Road and Prospect Church Road.
Transportation officials advise drivers to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit. Motorists should anticipate needing extra time while they travel through the project area.
