MINT HILL – Construction of a new roundabout is underway at the intersection of Lawyers Road and Bain School Road in Mint Hill, and the next phase requires closing a portion of Thompson Road. The work is part of a $1.6 million project awarded to All American Contracting LLC of Monroe.
The contractor will close the road at 9 a.m. Monday, July 23, with the contract calling for it to open no later than Monday, August 13.
During the closure, motorists will be detoured from Thompson Road to Idlewild Road, taking the I-485 Outer Loop to Lawyers Road (exit 47) back to Thompson Road. Motorists traveling in the opposite direction will follow the detour in reverse.
