MEBANE – N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will close the N.C. 119 off ramp from Interstate 40 westbound/I-85 southbound in Mebane this weekend, for paving and for the installation of a new storm drain pipe as part of the N.C. 119 Mebane Relocation Project.
Work will require the ramp to close at 8 p.m. Friday, July 27, until work is complete by 6 a.m. Monday, July 30.
Motorists will detour using Trollingwood Hawfields Road, Gibson Road, South Third Street Extension and Holmes Road.
Transportation officials advise drivers to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit. Motorists should anticipate needing extra time while they travel through the project area.
