Pipe Work Planned on Clark Road in Rowan County

SALISBURY – N.C. Department of Transportation maintenance crews will detour traffic off Clark Road at the intersection with Bringle Ferry Road east of Salisbury starting next week. The detour is needed so crews can replace a deteriorating 36-inch pipe under the roadway with a 95-inch pipe.

β€œThe current pipe has worn out and will be replaced with the new, larger pipe to improve drainage in the area,” said NCDOT Bridge Maintenance Engineer Chuck White.

Crews will close the road at 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 6. Weather permitting; it will reopen no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 31.

Drivers will be able to detour using Bringle Ferry Road and Clark Road in both directions.

Transportation officials advise drivers to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
