One lane will remain open to traffic at all times
WILMINGTON – Drivers traveling on the Intersate-140 /Dan Cameron Bridge over the Northeast Cape Fear River in New Hanover County should expect to encounter periodic lane closures beginning Monday, Aug. 13.
The closures will allow N.C. Department of Transportation crews can to safely install communications cable on I-140 in Brunswick and New Hanover counties as part of an ongoing project to monitor traffic conditions on the roadway.
The closures will be in place from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Friday nights to minimize traffic delays. The periodic closures will continue until mid-September. One lane will remain open in each direction at all times.
Motorists are urged to slow down and drive carefully through the work zone and to expect possible delays.
