GASTONIA – N.C. Department of Transportation crews will close lanes on I-85 in both directions near mile marker 14 to safely perform maintenance work on the bridge taking Shannon Bradley Road over the interstate.
The first closure will be on I-85 North, affecting two of three lanes starting at 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12. The lane closures may shift during the operation, but one lane will be open at all times. Work will wrap up by 6 a.m., Monday, Aug. 13.
On Monday night at 9 p.m., the lane closures will shift to the same area on I-85 South, continuing until 6 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 14.
Transportation officials remind motorists to drive safely, obey all posted speed limits and work-zone postings.
