THOMASVILLE – Drivers using the Interstate-85 and Lake Road (exit 102) interchange likely will encounter ramp closures tonight and tomorrow night when an N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will do pavement rehabilitation work on an entrance and exit ramp.
Weather permitting, the I-85 southbound exit ramp onto Lake Road is scheduled to be closed from 8 tonight until 6 a.m. Thursday.
On Thursday, the I-85 southbound on-ramp from Lake Road will close at 8 p.m. and reopen at 6 a.m. Friday.
For tonight’s closure, drivers should follow a signed detour on I-85 southbound for about six miles and take exit 96 (U.S. 64), to U.S. 64 West and proceed to I-85 northbound.
For Thursday’s closure, drivers should take I-85 northbound from Lake Road to exit 103 (N.C. 109), go left onto N.C. 109, and take I-85 southbound.
