WINSTON-SALEM – Pavement repairs on the Business 40 bridge that crosses U.S. 52 in Forsyth County will require daytime lane closures in both directions along a portion of U.S. 52 next week.
N.C. Department of Transportation bridge maintenance crews will close the inside lanes between mile markers 108 and 110 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 20 through Thursday, Aug. 23. North and southbound lane closures are needed so crews can safely work alongside traffic.
“While the entire highway will not close, drivers should anticipate slowdowns while crews work to restore the roadway,” said Division 9 Engineer Pat Ivey.
Transportation officials remind motorists to stay alert and obey the posted speed limit when traveling through work zones.
