Several Cabarrus County Roads to be Resurfaced

CONCORD – Drivers in Cabarrus County will soon have a smoother ride on two sections of U.S. 29 between George Liles Parkway and Rock Hill Church Road, along with ten secondary road segments, thanks to a $2.4 million contract recently awarded to improve about 10 miles of roadway.

In addition to improvements on U.S. 29, some secondary roads will be resurfaced, including a section of Robinson Church Road between the Mecklenburg County line and Rocky River Road, and part of Hudspeth Road between U.S. 29 and Morehead Road.

The contract awarded by the N.C. Department of Transportation to Blythe Construction, Inc. of Charlotte includes milling, resurfacing and shoulder reconstruction. Work will get underway after Labor Day, with project completion scheduled for June 2019.
