BURGAW – A section of U.S. 117 in Burgaw will close on Wednesday to allow N.C. Department of Transportation crews to safely remove a dead tree that could pose a hazard to motorists.
The closure will be in place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 117 and Cowen Street. Traffic will be detoured via the U.S. 117 Bypass, U.S. 117 Business and N.C. 53 West.
Transportation officials urge motorists to use caution while traveling through the area and observe signs with detour or construction information.
